BASIS TUCSON is not a traditional public school. We believe that math and science are the languages of the 21st century—that math, science, and humanities are not separate but complementary ways of communicating. Also at the core of our philosophy is the belief that AP classes are for all students, not just the gifted. We have higher level math and science courses than an “academy,” and we offer classes as diverse as Mandarin Chinese and Economics at the middle school level.
Our unique curriculum combines the best academic practices from around the world. We recruit our teachers—our biggest assets—in much the same way that a college coach would approach the recruiting of players, searching far and wide for the best possible professionals to educate our students.
