Last December, we introduced you to Robert Compton, entrepreneur and documentary filmmaker, at our Master Teacher Campaign Kick-Off event "Around the World" with BASIS Tucson. Mr. Compton joined us for a tour of BASIS and a screening of his first documentary 2 Million Minutes: A Global Examination.

The first 2 Million Minutes deftly highlighted the crisis In American education. Since then, Robert Compton has searched the globe looking for a school that provides the solution to the crisis in American education; a school that instills creativity, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and collaboration.

Now, less than one year after his initial visit, Mr. Compton will introduce the rest of the world to BASIS through his fourth documentary film 2 Million Minutes: The 21st Century Solution. According to Mr. Compton, "[BASIS] is academically as rigorous as anything I have seen in the world. More rigorous than Finland, more rigorous than the best in India and China."

We hope you will join us, along with Mr. Compton, at the Arizona premiere of 2 Million Minutes: The 21st Century Solution on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 7:00 PM at The Fox Theatre.

* Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and the Rev. Al Sharpton will not be in attendance at the Arizona Premiere of Two Million Minutes: The 21st Century Solution. They will be touring the BASIS Tucson Middle and Upper School campuses earlier that day.

Tickets will be $10 at the door.
